PFW - Victoria/Tomas SS14

La semaine de la mode est l'occasion de découvrir de jeunes créateurs fraichement sortis de l'école de stylisme. Une des premières présentations que j'ai eu l'occasion de faire est celle de Victoria/Tomas. Victoria Feldman, 23 ans et Tomas Bezins, 21 composent ce duo de créateurs arrivés dans les 10 finalistes du 28ème Festival de Hyères. Victoria & Tomas nous accueillent dans un showroom brut et épuré sur deux étages. Au sous-sol, la collection est exposée en photo et un film sur l'alpinisme est projeté sur l'un des murs et au première étage, les modèles sont exposés sur des mannequins. Victoria m'explique cette collection est centrée sur le sport et l'alpinisme, ce qui explique la corde (dans la mise en scène du showroom) et le film. De plus, leur atelier est situé dans les montagnes valenciennes. Cette collection Printemps Eté 2014 s'inspire des vêtements sportifs tout en les adaptant à la vie de tous les jours. Dans la collection de nombreuses pièces sont en cuir car le spécificité du travail des deux designers réside dans le travail du cuir : le cuir tricoté, le cuir sérigraphié... Victoria m'explique que le cuir, une fois travaillé, ne donnera jamais le même rendu, ce qui confère à chaque pièce un caractère d'authenticité et d'exclusivité. Cette collection est leur troisième et ils espèrent avoir une place dans la semaine de la mode pour la prochaine saison. Nous pouvons donc que leur souhaiter bonne chance!

The fashionweek is also the opportunity to discover upcoming and talented designers who finished school. One of the very first presentation I attented is the Victoria/Tomas' presentation. Victoria Feldman, 23 and Tomas Bezins, 21 make up this designer duo who finished among the 10 finalists of the 28th Hyères Festival. In the basement, the collection is exposed in picture and a short movie about alpinism support the photographic exhibit. Victoria explain me that the SS14 collection is centered around the theme of sport and alpinism that explain more the scenery and the movie. Moreover, their workshop is located in the mountains near Valences. this collection is inspired of sportwear yet fitted to everyday's life. In this collection a lot of pieces are in leather since the specificity of the two designers' work lies in the leather work : knitted leather, silk-screened leather... Victoria explains me that the leather, once it's treated, will never give the same result twice, which result in giving every piece its genuiness and its exclusivity. This collection is their third and they hope to be a part of the fashion week calendar for the next season. We can only wish them good luck!
